Swimmingpools.

We all love swimming pools. Water is so funny and refreshing... Here, in Santa Amalia, the swimming pool is going to open next Friday, the 20th. The last day of school!!!

Although swimming pools are awesome, they can be also dangerous. Here I'm going to give you some advice in order to avoid possible problems:

  • Put on sunblock before bathing. Sunburn is something very painful. And not only this: if you do not protect your skin, you could develop skin cancer in a future. A factor 50 is good choice. Remember to put on sunscreen every 2 hours.
  • From 14:00 to 16:00, better on the shade. During this period of time the sun is at the top of the sky, releasing a lot of UVA radiation. Even with sunblock, your skin could get burnt.
  • Do not play at the edge of the swimming pool. On that place the floor is usually slippery, and you could fall and get hurt.
  • Do not dive head first in shallow water. If you do so, you could bump against the bottom of the pool, hurting yourself. Many people is on wheelchair because of this (spinal cord injury)
  • Do not swim in the deep if you're not a good swimmer. Many times people think they can cross the deep water, but at the middle of the pool they get tired, beeing at risk of drowning.
  • Always pay attention and obey the lifeguards. Lifeguards are at the pool to protect you: so their word is gold.
