Santa Amalia spooky stories. The lady of the well. Part five. End.

People shivered. A baby bone? How was this possible? The doctor took the bone and carried it to the Gardia Civil. They arrived very soon, taking control over the draining. "OK!! All under control!! Star the draining again!! Turn on the pumps!!" The water flowed again, street down. After the first bone, a baby skull appeared. Then, more small bones, ribs, hips... Soon they find out the macabre truth: the well was a cemetery full of baby corpses. Hundreds of them. Maybe thousands. Who could now? Then, an old woman spoke:

"Do you remember that woman, Luisa, the one who lost her baby many years ago? She was admitted in a psychiatric center in Mérida because she blamed the Lady of the well about the kidnapping of her baby.Yes, the very same lady of the well. That one who never gets old. That one who's always beautiful. She lives just here, in this house in front of the well. Maybe...

The Guardia Civil broke in the beautiful's woman house. There was nobody there. They searched all the house, room by room. Nothing. The beautiful woman has vanished. Finally, in the last room, on a table, they found a note. It said:

At the end, Luisa was not crazy. 

Sincerely yours: The beautiful woman.

Time passed by. Hardly anyone remembered Luisa and her missing baby. Those neighbours got old, and died. And their children grew. All was changing. All... excepting the beautiful woman. She was always beautiful and young. Certainly strange. People still listened to the meows, like baby cries, from her home. But apart of that, nothing more. Until one day the major ordered to clean up the well. The water had become sour and dark. Nobody could drink it. And if you watered the plants with that water, they died in a few hours. 

The day of the cleaning was a public event. Many people were watching, because the well has never been cleaned. What could appear? Old knives, maybe coins, some old buckets... They started to drain the water. The wet stones were appearing, while the water level was going down. After a few hours, the well was almost empty. Only a half meter of water. And suddenly a worker screamed 

"Stop the draining! There is a bone here. Maybe a lamb bone, or a dog bone"

"Let me have a look" said the doctor of Santa Amalia, who whas also there watching the well. The doctor examined the bone during 20 long seconds. "This is not an animal bone. This is a human bone. A baby bone."

The assembly of Extremadura is a very old building. This building was previously a hospital. Many people died there. Actually there are noises and appeareances. Several workers have seen, heard and felt paranormal events (baby crying, spirits, paintings and sculptures that come to life, etc)

My father works there and he tells me horror stories he has heard. Two workers from his office saw a white light that crossed the corridor. Both them locked the door, scaried about they saw.

Another tells how the doors of this office opened, and there is no one. Babies cry and cry for help, mainly at night. These stories have reached TV (Cuarto Milenio broadcast a report about these paranormal events)

So, if you want to live a paranormal experience, do not forget to visit it.

"What happens? Why do you enter in my house? Why do you break down my door?"

"Bitch!!! You have kidnapped my baby. Where do you have him?"

"Dear neighbours: this woman is crazy. I do not kidnap children. In fact, I have been all the evening reading this book. Did any of you see me going out my house?"

"Certanly, I have not seen her going out", said one of the neighbours. "And I have been all the afternoon in the street, fixing my cart"

"I swear!! She was in my hose, floating over my baby!! She has caught it!!"

"Come on. Let's go out. Luisa, this is a nonsense"

"Please, you have to trust me!! She is a devil!!"

"Excuse us, lady. We are taking Luisa out. And we are going to repair your door now. Sorry for everything"

"Do not worry, dear neighbours. I forgive you. And now, take this insane woman out of here"

That night Luisa was admitted to a psychiatric center in Mérida. And everything went back to normal. Never again a baby dissapeared in Santa Amalia. Well, not in Santa Amalia. But in nearby towns, like Medellín, Valdetorres, Miajadas or Don Benito, babies continued dissapearing. But neighbours from Santa Amalia did not worry, because their town was a quite and peaceful place. And their babies grown safe and soon.

All neighbours went out of their homes, alarmed by those screams. The saw it was Luisa, a woman from Santa Amalia. "What's going on, Luisa? What happens? Are you OK?"

"My poor baby... She has taken my poor baby!! She is a daughter of the devil!! You have to break down the door. Now!!"

"OK Luisa. Let's calm down. Are you sure...?

"There is no time!! Please, help me. We have to break down the door now, before too late. I saw her floating over the cradle. I caught her with my baby on his arms. She looked at me with red eyes, like embers from hell. Then she laughed at me and then she dissapeared in fog. But I know it was her. Open the door!! Open the door, daughter of satan!!

The neighbours belived her. They took a big bench and they started banging on the door. After 6 tries, the door gave away. Luisa ran inside, looking for her baby. The neighbours went behind. They found the beautiful woman sitting on a chair, reading a book.

One day of Halloween it was the convention of the monsters , what is the problem? They did not invite deaht.

In the coonvetion were the zombies, the wizards, the vampires… but, in the night, someone opened the door, it was…THE DEAHT! The deaht say:

You did a mistake, i kill all… MUAJAJAJA!

Everyone was worried, they couldn’t do anything, the vampires could not call dracula, the mummies could not leave the sarcophagus, the witches could not make their special spell…

The deaht began to scare so strong that people began to die. The monsters stopped deaht, but she was still angry.

The monsters managed to stop deaht, the evil tongue that survived said that deaht is on a remote island planning her revenge, thousands of horsemen will come to kill us and she will stay whit his victorius reverenge.

The lady of the well. Santa Amalia's spooky story V. First part.

Magdalena well

In Magdalena Street there is a wide and deep well, covered by a metal grid. This well is very old; it was digged in the year 1827, when Santa Amalia was founded. And it is surrounded by legend. A tragic and dark legend.

When is getting dark in cold October evenings, old people still tell that many years ago, close to the well, a weird and beautiful woman lived. She was very silent and reserved. She never went out of home at daylight. Her neighbours were intrigued about her. No husband, no family, no friends... The only thing they knew is that she had to have cats, because at night, from time to time, it was possible to listen to the meows of them. Well, meows... This is what neighbours tried to convince themselves. Because more than meows, these wailings seemed to by baby crying. But nobody worried about that, because the cries didn't last more than one or two minutes. Yes; there were meows. Purely and simply meows.

But the thing changed a day when a woman arrived, all crazy, to Magdalena well. She was screaming, slamming the door of the beautiful woman. "Open the door, bloody bitch!!" "I swear I will kill you!!" "Open the door!!" "My baby!!" "Where's my baby?" Then she fell on her knees, crying "My baby... My poor baby..."

Extremadurian Halloween's legends I. The white lady ghost. Badajoz.

In accordance with legend, 200 years ago a beautiful lady jumped from Palma's bridge at night, in Badajoz. The reason: her family did not allow her to marry the man she loved. She dissapeared forever, and nobody (Neither the police, nor her family) could find her corpse.

This legend would not be interesting by itself. But some months ago something strange happened in the same bridge. A young boy called Alberto (about 20 years old) swam at night in Guadiana river. The reason: he had lost a bet with his friends. The thing is that the boy was swimming next to the fourth pillar when suddenly... He started drowning. His friends saw him and swam quickly for rescuing him. Fortunately they could do it. And at the river bank, when asking him what had happened... Alberto said that he had felt like a hand holding his foot and pulling him down. He even said that, already under the water, he could see a beautiful pale face smiling at him. Neither Alberto, nor his friends, have swum again on that dark and haunted waters.
