Hunting I. The hunting of wild boars and deer. Montería.

"Montería" is a Spanish word with no translation to English. It is a hunting art in which a group of hunters, helped by several packs of dogs called "rehalas" , tries to hunt big animals (mainly wild boars and deer which live in a concrete forest area). Here we are going to explain how a "montería" is organized.

Step 1: to reserve a concrete forest area.

Rehala.

In order to get the maximun animals in the hunting day, it is a common practice to prohibit hunting in the forest area which is going to be hunted. Some organizers also feed the animals, thinking in to make them bigger and healthier.

Step 2: to hire "rehalas".

Dogs are a very important part in "montería". Without them this type of hunting would be not possible, because these dogs have to push the animals slope up towards the crest of the mountaing range, were hunters are waiting. Thus, the organizers hire "rehalas": packs of 20 / 30 dogs controlled by men, called "rehaleros".

Step 3: to raffle the hunting posts.

In a "montería" there are hunting posts better than others. Animals trend to flee towards certain areas, such as glens or thick forest zones. For this reason the organizer raffles the hunting posts, in order to avoid fights or disagreements. This raffle happens in a large country house, close to where the "montería" is going to take place. There hunters, all together, have breakfast and chat, improving good spirit and comradery.

Step 4: arriving to the hunting posts.

Once the posts have been riffled, it is time to go to the forest. It is better to go walking, with no cars, to not scare the animals away.

Step 5. The "montería".

When all hunters are setted in their posts, the "montería" can start. The organizer blows a horn, with indicates the moment in which "rehalas" are free. The dogs start to comb the forest, pushing the wild animals up to the crest, where hunters are waiting for them. There it is the hot point: shooting, danger, big animals running... 

Step 6. To collect the hunted animals. Return to the meeting point.

When hunting's over it is time to collect the animals. The staff of the "montería" look for shooted animals, dragging them out of the forest and carrying them to the meeting point. There the organizer offers a big luch for all people involved in the "montería". Now every hunter identifies and takes his prey. It is very common to cut out the head of the hunted animal and send it to the taxidermist: a person who dissects and prepares it as a trophy. Later, the hunter usually hangs this head in his house.

Responding the request of David, I write here the story I referred you last Tuesday: The girl in the well.

This story starts in a normal day, a normal evening in a normal flat, with a normal boy and a normal girl. They live together; they are couple. Their names: George and Sarah. They are in love, and they are planning to marry soon.

The thing is that, while running, George has found an old VHS player abandoned in a dumpster, with a VHS tape inside. He decides to take the device for him, returning home and connecting it to the TV. "Darling, I have found an old VHS player with a tape inside!!! Would you like to watch the film with me!!!" "Yes, I'd love do it" So both them sit down in the sofa and start watching it.

The first thing they see on the screen is the image of a well in the middle of a field. There is nothing more. the image quality is not very good: a lot of pixels and distortions. "This is a boring thing" Sarah says "It is an still image. Come on, George, unplug the player and throw it to the dumpster where you..."

Suddenly, a big noise comes from the bathroom. Sarah and George go there and they check that the shelving on the toilet has fallen. "I do not understand" says George "This shelving was solid and well attached to the wall" "Do not worry" Sarah said "This things happen"."Look!! There are black fingerprints on the wood" pointed Geoge. Suddenly another noise, this time from the kitchen. They go there scared, running... and they discover that all the pottery, glasses and plates are out of the cupboard, broken on the floor. At this point the couple is very scared. They return to the living room, guessing that maybe there is a relationship between this two events and the video player.

In the livingroom things are quiet. However, the scene on TV has changed. The well and the field are the same: but now a girl dressed with a white nightgown is going out of the well. Her face is not visible: it is covered by long, dark straight hair. She cannot walk properly: instead she crawls like a spider, towards the screen. "George, I'm scared" Sarah says. "Do you think that...?

Suddenly, the girl looks up:

And she says: "I'm going to catch you".

The couple is horrified. The girl on the well keeps walking and... She starts to punch the screen!!! And the screen starts to break!!!! The couple run to the house door, trying to scape from there. But it is stuck. They run upstairs. They can listen how the girl has broken the screen, and now her wet steps sound by the corridor. Upstairs. Sarah and George lock themselves in the bathroom. The girl knows they are there. "I'm going to catch you". She starts to strike the door. 

The end... well, imagine. It is not a good end. Blood, guts, horror...
