Although there's never a reason for war, Russia has invaded Ukraine. The arguments: Russia says that Ukraine must be a barrier between them and the European Union; like a "shield country". On the other hand we have Europe, which wants Ukraine under its sphere of domain.

Furthermore, Ukraine is one of the major producers of wheat, corn and sunflower seed in the world. It is "the barn of Europe". The European Union desires to keep access to this resource, crucial for its economy.

What is happening NOW?

As expected, Russia is winning the war. Possibly in a few days the country will fall under Russian domain.

How does this war affect us?

There are mainly economic consequences:

Oil refinery.

Petrol and gas are increasing their prize. Last week a gas cylinder cost 17€; today 30€; and possibly this prize race is not going to stoop in a short / middle term. The same happens with petrol. Today diesel cost 2€ / litre; and it will be increased much more.
The shopping list is increasing its prize. Because all goods came by truck, and trucks need diesel for working on, the shopping list is getting more and more expensive. This is a very big problem which concerns everyone.
The invoice of light is going up more and more. Because the gas is increasing its prize, and because we use gas for producing electricity, the invoice of gas is also going up.

What about people in Ukraine?

But with no doubt, the more affected ones are the Ukranians. 2.000.000 people has fled from the country; many others are dying; roads, buildings and bridges are being destroyed... The country will not recover in decades.

Spear of destiny.

Number 5. The spear of destiny. (Holy lance)

In accordance with tradition, this is the spear with which Longinus (a Roman solider) pricked Jesus Christ's lung for checking if he was still alive in the cross. Many people along History believed that armies in possesion of this spear were undefeatable (people like German Emperors, or even Hitler) Actually there are at least five spears which claim to be the authentic one.

Number 4. The Tick Licker.

It was the rifle of Daniel Boone (a famous American fur trader, also hunter). In accordance with tradition this rifle could bring to the shooter the hability of having good aim. In fact its name, translated, could be "el lamegarrapatas". People say that with this weapon Daniel Boone could kill a tick dozens of meters away.

Number 3. Dora Cannon.

World War II. Nazi armies are sieging Sebastopol. They needed to destroy some targets quickly; and for that purpose they made the biggest cannon ever created: the "Dora" cannon. It could shoot giant bullets, bigger than a tank.

Number 2. Grasscutter.

A mythical katana, owned by Japanesse Emperors. People say it is the only sword capable of cutting a single blade of grass (like a razor shaving knife). Current Japan emperor (Naruhito) claims that he still has the sword; although no one is allowed to see it.

Number 1. Excalibur.

Perhaps the most famous sword in the world. In accordance with tradition, in the island of Tintagel there was a sword stuck in a rock. A legend said that the man who could take it out of the stone would become king of England. Nobles from all over the country were trying to do it, with no success. Tall and strong men, trained and hardened in many batles.

Suddenly, over there, a poor and humble boy called Arthur appeared. He was very thin, pale and bonny. Some of the nobles thought it would be funny to laugh at the weak lad. So one of them said "Hey, boy!! Come and take this sword out of the rock. Be our king!!!" All nobles laughed noisily. Arthur walked towards de rock, pulled and... The sword easily came out. All nobles fell on their knees, showing respect to the boy. Some days after the boy was crowned. The legend of king Arthur had started.
